The Asia / Oceania Regional Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics is run every four years, for the Asia / Oceania Regional Council of the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (IAGG). In November 2007, the Australian Association of Gerontology, in partnership with the New Zealand Association of Gerontology, was endorsed as the host for the 9th Regional Congress, to be held in Melbourne in October 2011.

The overseeing organisational committee for the 9th Congress is the Australian and New Zealand Organising Committee. Members of this Committee are:
